As it shifts its Bangkok operations back from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Don Mueang Airport (DMK), Thai AirAsia X has announced it will resume its flights from Bangkok to Sydney this December.
From December 1, Thai AirAsia X will operate six weekly flights from Don Mueang to Sydney. The return flights from Sydney will start the following day (December 2). The airline will offer three weekly departures each in the morning and the evening each way.
Citing fleet management and operation hub movement, the Thai-based medium/long-haul AirAsia carrier previously announced it would temporarily suspend its flights between Bangkok and Sydney between August 1 and November 30. Previously departing from Suvarnabumi Airport, Thai AirAsia X announced it would shift its operations to Don Mueang Airport from October 1.
According to Thai AirAsia X, the shift of its Bangkok operations to Don Mueang Airport is a strategic move to create opportunities for connections to the larger AirAsia networks, both domestic and international, while providing visitors more convenient access to inner Bangkok.
